Archie Williams Story from Prison to America’s Got Talent

36 Years in prison

At the age of 22, Archie Williams was convicted to jail for the crime of Rape which he never committed. According to The Innocent Project, the Non Profit organization, he was identified in a wrong crime . The Innocent Project Constantly workef to free him. Actually, after the wrongful conviction, Williams wrote one letter to Barry Scheck, the cofounder of Innocence Project, pleading for someone to free him.

When the Innocence Project worked for years and request the DNA testing they didn’t get a positive response. Then, William advocate finally ordered the state to check the fingerprints. Fingerprints left at the scene against those in the FBI database. And the case solved, it wasn’t Archie Williams. “Within hours” the real criminal was chased, a serial rapist at the time, and Williams was freed.

Woaaaahoooo!!! What an incredible journey Williams has came across with.  

Dream To America’s got Talent

While in prison, William had performed and catch episodes of the show. But in the dark times, William just prays and sings with his heart to get some peace. He had dreamt someday audition for. Singing saved him from succumbing and raised hope to the darkness of his situation. William added “I watched ‘America’s Got Talent’ in prison and I would visualize myself there,” he said before his audition. “I always desired to be on a stage like this, and now I’m here.” Amazing! That’s the real power of Visualization.

Archie William also added that “I was in my first band when I was 12,” . Williams said. “Throughout my incarceration at Angola, I sang. I sang gospel in the church and started my own band. Music helped me get through the prison.”

Archie William Performance -Stunned the Judges

William’s great story amazed the judges. Especially When Williams sang the very last line of the song “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” with the line, “But losing everything is like the sun going down on me,” the entire crowd present in the studio including the four-panel judges— gave a standing ovation. What a performance it was! 

“I will never, ever listen to that song the same way after you sang that,” judge Simon Cowell told him. “This is an audition I will never forget for the whole of my life, Archie.” Though all the four judges were quite impressed by him and showed empathy to his story.

Even All judges voted to send him onto the next round of the competition. Archie Williams story has received too much love from the people and has already touched millions of hearts.
